Terms of service
Last updatedOctober 5, 2026
These terms apply when you book a table, hire a room or buy a gift card from Tallow through this website. By sending a booking or an enquiry you accept them.
01Bookings
A booking request is a request, not a confirmed table, until we confirm it by phone or email. We hold a confirmed table for fifteen minutes past the time you booked; after that it goes to the next guest. Parties under eight pay no deposit.
02Large parties and private dining
Parties of eight or more, and any private dining booking, pay a deposit of 20 a head through a payment link we send. The deposit comes off the bill on the night. A room is held for 48 hours while you decide.
03Changing and cancelling
Change or cancel a table free of charge up to four hours before. Later than that we may keep the deposit, because the table has been turned away from other guests. Private dining can be changed free of charge up to seven days before; after that the deposit is kept.
04Gift cards
Gift cards are valid for twelve months from the day they are sent and can be used on food and drink on any night. They cannot be exchanged for cash.
05Allergens
Every dish on the menu lists its allergens. We cook with dairy, gluten, nuts, egg and shellfish in one kitchen, so we cannot promise that any dish is free of traces. If you have a serious allergy, tell us when you book and again when you sit down.
06Prices
Prices on this site include tax. A discretionary service charge of 12.5 per cent is added to the bill and goes to the team. We may change prices and the menu at any time.
07If something is wrong
If a dish or a night is not what it should be, tell us on the night and we will put it right.
08Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for a booking is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.
09Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
